On Thursday, April 23, 2026, Giving Day returns to Sonoma State. Now in its fifth year, Giving Day is an opportunity for our entire community to come together and transform the future of Sonoma State. Over the course of 24 hours, alumni, donors, parents, faculty, staff, students, and community members will participate in the celebration by supporting and/or sharing with others what they love about Sonoma State.

Sonoma State University will host a Mass Casualty Tabletop Exercise from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, February 12.
The tabletop exercise will focus on mass casualty events affecting multiple jurisdictions within North Bay counties. The goal is to improve coordination and communication of first responder agencies that might be involved in planning and preparing for a major event or mass casualty event occurring in North Bay counties.

The Sonoma State University Police Department is seeking community assistance with information about a suspected explosive device that was discovered at 5:45 p.m. today at the northwest section of the Lakes.
Officers were alerted to the suspected device by a community member who was magnet fishing at the Lakes. The community member contacted the University Police Department, which immediately isolated the area and began an investigation.
