The university's current flag protocol requires the Vice President for Administration & Finance to notify the campus when the flag is lowered to half-staff.

The flag has been lowered to half-staff to honor the memory of former Vice President Richard Cheney. The flag will remain at half-staff until the day of interment, which has not been established.

Every fall, the California State University Chancellor’s Office issues a memorandum that serves as the call for campus recommendations for the award of honorary doctoral degrees granted by the Board of Trustees of the California State University. Sonoma State received that memorandum on Friday, October 10.

The University Budget Advisory Committee (UBAC) has been charged with advising Sonoma State University’s Interim President on how to allocate $3 million in one-time discretionary funds from the SSU Commitment funding provided by the California State Legislature.
