The university's current flag protocol requires the Vice President for Administration & Finance to notify the campus when the flag is lowered to half-staff.
The flag will be lowered to half-staff until 6 p.m. Saturday, July 18 per the proclamation issued by the President of the United States following the death of U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham.

This week, the city of Rohnert Park is continuing its work on the Copeland Creek Trail and Crane Creek Park Expansion project. This work will include asphalt paving, traffic striping, and electrical and signage work at Laurel Drive and Petaluma Hill Road.
July 15: Laurel entrance and exit will be closed for paving. Please use an alternate access point. Please see map below:

Effective July 15, 2026, Information Technology Services (ITS) will transition from the IT Help Desk ticketing system at help.sonoma.edu to the San Francisco Bay Region Network (SFBRN) Service Portal. This planned transition is part of Sonoma State's integration into the SFBRN.

The annual Consumer Confidence Report is provided to inform the campus community about the quality of drinking water that Facilities Management delivers to the Sonoma State campus every day. The goal is to consistently provide a safe and dependable supply of drinking water that meets or exceeds federal and state drinking water standards. This report demonstrates the quality of the water produced at SSU.

REPORTED CRIME: On June 24, 2026, at approximately 8:15 a.m., officers from the Sonoma State Police Department responded to the Art Building for a reported suspicious person. Upon contacting the individual, James Gabriel Stevenson, 35, of Cotati, officers were able to determine that he matched the description of a suspect who may have been seen in possession of a campus-owned cart that was reported stolen on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

Sonoma State successfully transitioned to the CSU's Common Human Resources System (CHRS) on May 13, 2026. As we continue to support our campus community following go-live, we invite you to take a few minutes to complete a brief survey and share your experience with CHRS.
Your feedback will help identify opportunities for improvement, enhance training and support resources and inform future CHRS implementation efforts across the CSU.
