Sonoma State University and its partners have been awarded $18 million from the state to launch the Redwood Coast K-16 Education Collaborative.

As the winter break approaches, we invite all students who completed their degrees in Fall 2025, and those who will be graduating in Spring and Summer 2026, to begin planning conversations with parents, family members, and loved ones who may want to participate in upcoming Commencement celebrations.

All campus buildings will be closed December 29-31. Electrical power to all Sonoma State University campus buildings will be shut off to address critical electrical related work. In addition to the electrical power being off, we will also be shutting off campus water for preventative maintenance repairs. During this schedule, all campus buildings will be closed and restricted from access. As in previous events, we will be using generators for essential and emergency services.

The flag will be lowered to half-staff on December 7, 2025 for National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.

The Sonoma State University Police Department will host active assailant training for law enforcement and fire department personnel from January 5 through January 9, 2026. Some areas of the Green Music Center, including all of Schroeder Hall and the education wing, will be off limits to the campus community between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. each day.
