CalPERS Planning Your Retirement Workshop and One-on-One Sessions

We are excited to welcome CalPERS to campus for an informational workshop on Wednesday, April 8th from 9-11:30am in Salazar classroom 2013.
This session, Planning Your Retirement, is designed for employees who are within approximately 10 years of retirement and want to better understand their CalPERS benefits and plan ahead with confidence. In this workshop you will learn about:
- Retirement Calculation
- Payment Options
- Pre-Retirement Death Benefits
- Power of Attorney
- Health Benefits
- Online Resources
How to enroll:
- Visit my.calpers.ca.gov and log into your myCalPERS account.
- From the Education dropdown menu, select Classes.
- Confirm “Instructor-Led” is selected in the “Sort by” field.
- Select Planning Your Retirement (Sponsored By California State University at Sonoma) - verify that you are choosing the correct Planning Your Retirement session, should be one of the first three classes shown.
- Follow prompts to register.
For enrollment assistance, please contact CalPERS at 888-CalPERS (888-225-7377). If you are unable to attend this session, CalPERS offers this presentation regularly and provides additional educational resources on its website.
Employees may also request a 20 minute one-on-one session with a CalPERS representative in the afternoon. Participants should bring a CalPERS Retirement Estimate, the representative will review the estimate, provide guidance on completing the retirement application, and answer any questions you may have. To request an appointment, email [email protected]. Requests will be reviewed to determine scheduling priority and confirmed appointment times and location will be provided via email.
