October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, an opportunity to highlight common cybersecurity threats and share practical steps we can all take to protect ourselves and our campus community.
Finding a job or internship can be exciting, especially when an opportunity offers flexible hours, remote work, and good pay. Unfortunately, cybercriminals take advantage by creating fake job postings and sending fraudulent job offers.

At 9:47 a.m. today, the Chancellor’s Office (CO) reported systemwide login issues with
Single Sign-On and SSL Certificates. An incident response team at the CO has been
formed, and SFBRN ITS is actively monitoring their progress.

One of the most common cybersecurity threats continues to be phishing. We receive emails every day from people and organizations we trust, as well as from attackers attempting to impersonate those trusted sources.

The SFBRN ITS team had identified an issue affecting user access to SSU systems. As of 3:50 p.m., full access for all users has been restored.
Our sincere apologies for this disruption to our students, staff, and faculty. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Dear Campus Community,
At approximately 2:30 p.m., the SFBRN ITS Department discovered an issue affecting the ability to log into campus systems, including PeopleSoft, CSUBuy, and Google Suite products.
What's Happening
While users can open the Online Services portal, users attempting a new login cannot access web-based applications.
Users who were logged in before the incident still have access.
Why
Our ITS team has identified the source of the issue and is working on a solution.
