(Rohnert Park ) — The Wine Business Institute at Sonoma State University has issued a new report estimating that the California economy will experience a loss of nearly $10 billion from a decline in revenues to the state’s vintners and growers because of COVID-19.

(Sonoma County) – The Wine Business Institute in the School of Business and Economics at Sonoma State University in partnership with Santa Rosa Junior College launched a new bachelor’s degree transition program to serve the community.

(Rohnert Park) — Dr. Jean-Francois Coget, an associate dean and professor at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, has been named the new dean of the School of Business and Economics at Sonoma State, the university announced today.

(Rohnert Park) – Sonoma State University will host a joint hearing of the California Assembly and Senate Select Committees on the wine industry on Friday, June 28 at the Wine Spectator Learning Center. The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. and is open to the public.

(Rohnert Park) With nearly 700 students, alumni, faculty and leaders of the North Coast wine industry in attendance, Sonoma State University celebrated the grand opening of the Wine Spectator Learning Center on campus on May 29.

Emma Towslee knows what it’s like to overcome setbacks. The soon-to-be graduate in biology with minors in chemistry and business, has to live with one that has set her back for the past four years. Her freshman year she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.

The Grand Opening event and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Wine Spectator Learning Center at Sonoma State University will take place on May 29 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. on campus.

Dr. William S. Silver, who guided the School of Business and Economics (SBE) at Sonoma State University to new heights during his 10-year tenure as dean, is stepping down from the position effective Dec. 31, 2017, and will return to teaching as a professor of Leadership and Management.
