UBAC Update on SSU Commitment Discretionary Funding - Final Report & Next Steps

Dear Campus Community,

Following our campus-wide message last fall inviting input to the University Budget Advisory Committee (UBAC), we would like to share a brief update on the process and its outcomes.

In December 2025, UBAC’s final report outlining funding recommendations for SSU Commitment discretionary funding was completed. The report was the result of an inclusive, multi-step process that incorporated survey responses from both campus and community constituency groups, as well as listening sessions and committee deliberations. Input was synthesized into key themes and, together with a transparent evaluation rubric, informed the final funding recommendations presented in the report.

The final report was initially submitted to Interim President Cutrer, who determined that consideration by President Spagna was most appropriate given the timing and the longer-term implications of the funding recommendations for the University. His response to the funding recommendations is linked here.

Both documents are posted on the UBAC website linked below. As the committee moves into the next phase of work described in the President’s response, it will engage relevant constituencies as appropriate. Those interested in contributing to particular initiatives may indicate their interest through their committee representatives.
