TO: Campus Community
FR: Lauren Antoni, Director of Culinary Services

At Culinary Services, we believe that dining should be an enjoyable and accessible experience for everyone. We know that the high energy and bustling atmosphere of a campus dining hall can sometimes be overwhelming.

We are excited to announce the launch of a designated Low-Sensory Dining Space located within The Kitchens (near the Passport dining area).

What to expect:

  • Identified Seating: Look for specific tables marked with "Low-Sensory Dining" signage
  • Reduced Stimuli: This area is intended for those who need a quieter, more calm environment to enjoy their meal.
  • Additional Support: Our partners in the Center for Academic Access & Student Enrichment (CAASE) are available to assist students who may need noise-canceling headphones. Information on how to access these resources is included on the table signage.

We want to share a special thank you for our Disability Services for students office, The Center for Academic Access & Student Enrichment, student advocates, staff, and faculty who helped make this initiative a reality. This is just one step in our ongoing commitment to ensuring our campus dining spaces are inclusive and welcoming for every student.

We look forward to seeing you at The Kitchens!
