Campus Update: Air Quality Incident

Campus is open and operating as normal. We recognize that employees may notice smoky conditions or have questions about air quality, and we wanted to share the following update.

Sonoma County is currently experiencing poor air quality due to the smoke from the Woodside Fire, located about 50 miles north of campus. We are monitoring air quality conditions. Currently, the AQI on campus is 170 based on the readings the university evaluates for considering mitigation measures against wildfire smoke.
 
At this time, campus conditions do not warrant changes to normal operations. In the event campus air quality were to reach thresholds that require additional mitigation measures, affected departments will be contacted directly with guidance. As long as AQI exceeds 150 for 30 minutes or more, N95 masks will be made available to the campus community at Seawolf Services.
