The Green Music Center welcomes award-winning journalist and Democracy Now! host Amy Goodman to Weill Hall on April 7 as part of the H. Andréa Neves and Barton Evans Social Justice Lecture Series. Amy Goodman is the host and executive producer of Democracy Now!, a national, daily, independent, award-winning news program airing on over 1,400 public television and radio stations worldwide. Goodman has also co-authored six New York Times bestsellers. Her latest one, Democracy Now!: Twenty Years Covering the Movements Changing America looks back over the past two decades of Democracy Now! and the powerful movements and charismatic leaders who are re-shaping our world. Goodman is also the subject of Steal This Story, Please! a new documentary chronicling her life and the founding of the award-winning independent news program Democracy Now!
Presented by Sonoma State University’s College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts, the lecture series is supported by an endowment from SSU Professor Emeritus H. Andréa Neves and her late husband, Barton Evans. Each year, the series brings a distinguished speaker to campus to engage the university and broader community in critical conversations on social justice.
