SSU Symphony Orchestra 2017-18 Season

The Sonoma State University Symphony Orchestra will perform four concerts for the orchestra's 2017-18 concert season in Weill Hall at the Green Music Center starting in October. The concerts will be conducted by Alexander Kahn, now in his third season with the orchestra.

Repertoire is subject to change. All tickets are $8 and free to SSU students with ID (promo code SSUStudent).

 

 

The Art of The Concerto

Oct. 1, 2 p.m.
The annual Orchestral Concerto Competition winners, Spencer Causey, horn, and Jamelia Brown, soprano, will be featured performing works by Mozart and R. Strauss.

 

 

Masterworks for Voice and Orchestra

Nov. 17, 7:30 p.m.
Joint concert with the SSU choirs.

 

 

To The Movies!

March 4, 2 p.m.
Appealing to the whole family, this performance will harken to the hit music of the silver screen with works by John Williams (Star Wars), Howard Shore (Lord of The Rings), and legendary composer Erich Korngold.

 

 

Organ Symphony

April 29, 2 p.m. 
Guest artist Jonathan Dimmock will perform two masterpieces for organ - the Concerto for Organ and Strings by Poulenc, and Saint Saens' "Organ" Symphony No. 3.
