SSU ‘takes its show on the road’ with admitted student mixers at six schools

Sonoma State University wants its future Seawolves to know that acceptance to the university was just the first step – the next one is to celebrate!

Over the next two months, Sonoma State faculty, staff, alumni, and students will visit six Northern California high schools for Admitted Student Mixers, where students from 74 nearby high schools who are already admitted to SSU can celebrate their admission, meet “the people of SSU,” and start picturing themselves as college students on a campus that feels like home.

“We are making an effort to connect with prospective students by taking our show on the road,” said Paul Edwards, SSU Interim Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management. “We’re excited to get out, give them some up-close attention, and show them that we want them to be Seawolves.

“By staying connected with admitted students from the time they are accepted until they come to campus for Seawolf Decision Day or New Student Orientation, we hope to remain their preferred destination for the next stage of their academic journey.”

Admitted student mixers include brief presentations, food, giveaways, and chances to connect with fellow future Seawolves and the people who help make SSU a close-knit and supportive community.
