Effective today, the Veterans Affairs office at Sonoma State University is relocating to Salazar 1000 and its name is being changed to Veterans Services. The reorganization and relocation is due to the retirement of current Veterans Affairs Director, Peter Neville, who is leaving Sonoma State after many years of dedicated service.
All veteran-related services will now be administered under the direction of Susan Gutierrez, Director of Financial Aid and Veterans Services. Julia Ibanez will assume the duties of Veterans Coordinator and School Certifying Official. While all current veterans services will continue to be offered, the organizational and office location changes are designed to increase visibility and convenience for the student veterans and dependents of veterans.
New hours for the Veterans Services office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Drop-in office hours are held on Thursdays, 3-4:30 p.m. The Veterans Services phone number (707.664.2780), email address (email@example.com), and website (www.sonoma.edu/veterans) remain unchanged. Veterans Services student assistant Christopher Graham will continue his role at the new office location.
