Sonoma State University has been selected as one of the 2025 Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs by ACPA-College Student Educators International (ACPA) and the magazine/website Diverse: Issues in Higher Education.

According to the award letter, Sonoma State rose to the top in categories including  family friendliness, salary/benefits, and professional development opportunities. The 2025 selections were made based on responses to a fall 2024 survey assessing each organization’s focus on workplace diversity, staffing practices, and work environment.

“This is the fourth time that our Division has been chosen for this honor in the last six years, and this year we were the only CSU campus selected,” said Dr. Gerald Jones, SSU Vice President for Student Affairs and Acting Senior Diversity Officer.

“Student Affairs staff at Sonoma State pour our hearts into our Seawolves. My pride in leading this passionate team continues to grow,” he said.

With other awardees, Sonoma State will receive national recognition for its selection and achievement at the ACPA25 Convention in Long Beach, California and in a future edition of Diverse: Issues in Higher Education.
