Sonoma State University’s Career Center is launching a new event, Mini Fair, which allows students to make connections with employers to explore job, internship and volunteer opportunities. A Mini Fair will feature up to 15 employers during each event. The Mini Fair will kick off during the fall semester on Nov. 13 and 14 from 11:00 a.m. - 2 p.m. in Seawolf Plaza.
The Mini Fair was specifically created to give both students and employers the opportunity to make relationships in a professional setting and create more connections to hire Seawolves for the upcoming spring semester, winter break, or for an internship. “The Mini Fair goal is to create more opportunities in a small environment for both students and employers. Students will be able to network, talk about jobs and careers and learn more about several local companies,” said Becky Sandoval Young, Career Center advisor.
The Mini Fair event gives students the chance to network with companies and organizations, such as the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy, the Nugget Market and more. The Nov. 13 Mini Fair is hosted by Alliant International University and Nov. 14 is hosted by Young’s Market Company.
The Mini Fair is a free event that is open to all SSU students. Students should check in at the Career Center tent upon arrival to the Mini Fair. The Career Center highly encourages students to dress in professional attire and have their resume in hand and ready to learn more about career, internship and volunteer opportunities that exist in the local area.
