For the past three semesters, the University library has turned into a "concert hall" on the first Friday of the month. While the acoustics are nowhere those of GMC's Weill Hall, the concerts provide SSU musical ensembles a chance to preview their upcoming concerts.
This Friday at noon the Chamber Winds Ensemble led by Dr. Andy Collinsworth will perform Mozart's timeless Serenade No. 11 - an octet for oboes, clarinets, horns and bassoons - and Robert Spittal's playful Consort for Ten Winds. The full Chamber Winds program takes place on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m. in GMC 1028.
The music continues next spring with these groups:
• MARCH 2 - JAZZ ENSEMBLE, Doug Leibinger, director
• APRIL 6 - CHAMBERS SINGERS, Jenny Bent, conductor
• MAY 4 - GUITAR ENSEMBLE, Eric Cabalo, director
