Four New Members Elected to Weill Hall and Green Music Center Board of Advisors

The Weill Hall and Green Music Center Board of Advisors has appointed four new members: Sandra Velasco Jordan of Healdsburg, Tor Kenward of St. Helena, Margaret McCarthy of Santa Rosa and San Francisco, and William C. White of Petaluma. The new members were elected by unanimous vote at a Board of Advisors meeting on Dec. 17 and will serve alongside 33 existing board members including Chairman Sanford I. Weill, Vice-Chairs Joan Weill and Marne Olson, Treasurer Lynn Fritz and Secretary Gary Nelson.

"I am delighted to welcome these four new members to our Board of Advisors," said Weill. "Their unique personal and professional backgrounds will be a terrific addition to our board and we look forward to their involvement."

Sonoma State President Ruben Armiñana said, "I enthusiastically support the addition of these new Board members to our team. I am confident that the group of individuals assembled to guide the Green Music Center into the future represents a sampling of the rich talent to be found in Sonoma County and the Bay Area at large."

SANDRA VELASCO JORDAN served as Creative Director for Jordan Winery in Healdsburg from 1993 to 2007 where her designs in packaging J Sparkling Wine and Jordan Olive Oil won her national awards. During that time she also created the Sandra Jordan Collection as way to design luxury products while simultaneously creating jobs in her native Peru. The collection has evolved over time from the design and manufacture of sterling silver wine accessories to a line of baby alpaca fabrics. Jordan was educated in British schools around the world and holds an undergraduate degree in international affairs, master's degree in education and has completed additional graduate work in business administration. She has previously worked as an educator at the high school and college level including positions at the University of California, Berkeley and Golden Gate University. Jordan's book, "The Art of Decanting: Bringing Wine to Life," is currently in its fifth printing by Chronicle Books.

TOR KENWARD founded TOR Kenward Family Wines with his wife Susan following his retirement in 2001. TOR is a small wine company based on single vineyard cabernet sauvignons and chardonnays located in St. Helena. Prior to founding his own company, Kenward spent 27 years as a senior executive with Beringer Vineyards, working in winemaking and marketing and helping to build the company into a winery known to collectors worldwide.

As Chief Financial Officer of WideOrbit, Inc, MARGARET McCARTHY is responsible for driving all financial and administrative functions at WideOrbit, a leader in the field of premium broadcast technology. McCarthy has previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Red Condor, Inc.; Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Atom Entertainment, Inc. (acquired by Viacom in 2006); and Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at Macromedia and Cadence Design Systems. She holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Yale University and a master's degree in business administration from Dartmouth College.

WILLIAM C. WHITE is the co-founder of Basin Street Properties and head of that company's Board of Directors. He founded the company in 1974 in Petaluma with his wife Pat, and in 1982 began building Redwood Business Park. The company subsequently built out the Theatre District in downtown Petaluma and currently operates numerous other projects in California and Nevada. A member of the Board of Directors for Navy Seal Foundation, he is also past president of the Petaluma Chamber of Commerce. White holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Lehigh University and a master's degree in business administration from Harvard University. In 2011, White was inducted into the Sonoma County Business Hall of Fame.
