President Obama hosted a meeting about the affordability of postsecondary education that included former Sonoma State University's Provost Eduardo Ochoa (back, left).

Ochoa was appointed by President Obama to the position of assistant secretary for postsecondary education in June 2010 and continues to thrive as a senior staffer in the U.S. Department of Education. In addition, Jane Wellman (center, at table) was invited to President Obama's December summit on college affordability. Her Delta Project is a source of data on higher-education spending that is cited by those on all sides of the debate.
